About:-
Technical education is the most important component of human resource development. Its significance lies in the present scenario of globalization and liberalization of economy that has given an opportunity and impetus to the Indian Industry to compete at world level. Technological progress at present is faster than ever before. To keep pace with the development and progress in the technical field, Technical Institutes should not only maintain a close linkage with the industries to respond to their urgent needs for development of human resources but also be prepared for future developments keeping in view indigenous technologies and exploits 'of natural talents and resources.
The rapid industrialization of our country in this new century has necessitated multiplication of the facilities for technical education. This phenomenon led to the foundation of "Siwan Engineering & Technical Institute, Siwan" on 19th Nov. 2000 which was inaugurated by the People of Siwan.
Siwan Engineering & Technical Institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi recognized by Govt. of Bihar and affiliated to J.P. University, Chapra and right now it has following courses both technical and Professional in the field of Engineering and Management at the Graduation and Post Graduation level:-

This Institution is one of the member of the Association of Unaided Private Minority Engineering colleges of Bihar.

Siwan Engineering & Technical Institute is located at east-south comer of the Siwan along Siwan-Chapra Road,(Railway crossings at Chanp Dhala) spread over an area of 325 acres at a distance of about 3 kms from Siwan Railway Junction. It is a few minute walk from Chanp Dhala (Railway crossing) towards south.
The weather conditions are usually pleasant with temperature variations from 5° to 40° C and rainfall of about 100 em. The campus has unique location in the sense that it is free from environmental pollutions.

Admission:-


Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech.)
Eligibility for admission: A candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject and he should have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Criteria for Admission: The institute conducts and Entrance test for the admission in the MBA program. Admission is made only to those students who come in the merit list after qualifying Entrance Test. Branches of engineering are allotted on the basis of merit in the entrance test
Admission in B. tech 2nd year Lateral Entry:
Eligibility for admission: A candidate should have
  • Passed Diploma Examination from an AICTE approved institution; with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
  • Passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
  • Provided that in case of students belonging to B. Sc. Stream shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering program along with the second year subjects.
  • Provided further that the students belonging to B. Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supplementary seats in this category with students belonging to the diploma stream.
  • Provided further that students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE Approved Institution or B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the first year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. However the admissions shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in A, B, D, and E above.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) 

Eligibility for Admission:  Candidates seeking admission to MBA program should have passed Bachelor’s Degree/ Master Degree Examination form any recognized University in any discipline (Science/Commerce, Arts, Social Science, Engineering or equivalent) and have secured not less than 50% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree Examination in aggregate, and not less than 45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category.
Criteria for Admission: The institute conducts and Entrance test for the admission in the MBA program. Admission is made only to those students who come in the merit list after qualifying Entrance Test. Priority is given to those candidates who qualify MAT or other equivalent test conducted by the Govt./ semi-Govt. /autonomous bodies.

General Rules
Admission of candidates in the Institute implicitly implies that they shall strictly comply with the rules and regulation of the Institute issued from time to time relating to their studies, examination, conduct and discipline, etc.
The Institute may refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason whatsoever.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction is English. The students are required to answer their terminal examinations and University examinations in English only. Further, the students are suggested to communicate to one another in English in the campus.
Cancellation of admission
If, at any stage during the course of study of a student, it is found to the subjective satisfaction of the collage authorities that:
  • A student has secured admission on the basis of false certificates, mark sheet or on the basis of any other inappropriate of illegal means, his / her admission shall be summarily cancelled and (s)he shall forfeit all fees paid by him/ her. This will be without prejudice to any other action which the institute may take against such a student.
  • The conduct of a student of the college is not satisfactory or is indiscipline.
  • A student indulges in ragging of the students of the college.
  • The activities of a student are such as to be detrimental to the interest of the institute.
Application for admission
  • Prospectus and admission form can be obtained from college office on cash payment of Rs. 500/- from 9:30 am to 4: 00 pm on all working days except Friday.
  • Application form can also be photocopied or downloaded from the website of the Institute www.siwanengineeringcollege.com
  • Properly filled in photocopied or downloaded Application form can be deposited by hand in the Admission Cell of the Institute after obtaining a Cash Receipt worth Rs. 500/- towards the Admission Test Fee or it can also be sent by Speed-Post after enclosing a Bank Draft worth Rs. 500/- in favour of “Islamia Educational and social welfare Trust, Siwan”, payable at Siwan.
  • The C.R. /DD No., Date and Amount should be mentioned on the top left corner of the Application Form in the appropriate box.
Entrance Test
The institute conducts separate Entrance Tests for admission to the B. Tech. and MBA program.
How to fill in the application form
The application form for admission must be duly filled in by the candidate in his/her own hand writing and signed by him. The form must be completed in all respect.
List of enclosure 
Duly filled in application forms must be accompanied by the following enclosures before submission:
1. Cash Receipt or Bank Draft worth Rs. 500/- (in original), and
2. Self addressed white envelop affixed with stamp of Rs. 25.

Counselling
Date for counseling shall be announced at the time of display of the Entrance Test result.Candidates called for counselling are required to show all the original certificates asked for in the letter calling them to appear before the counselling committee.
Payment of Admission Fees
I. All fees and charges are to be paid in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favor of “Islamia Educational & Social Welfare Trust, Siwan” payable at Siwan.
II. The fee deposited at the time of admission not refundable.
